A family collides and sparks fly
Bill Macllwraith's play, filled with acid humour and delicious verbal sword play, deals with the dynamics in a family where the Matriarch most definitely rules the roost. Malevolent and incredibly possessive,
Mother manipulates her sons into submission by plying them with gifts, exploiting their weaknesses and making pointed threats. But rebellion is in the air when the family unwillingly gather to celebrate Mum's wedding anniversary (even though Dad has been dead for years). But can they summon up the courage to confess all to Mum? She's not going to relinquish her supremacy without a good fight! The play was filmed starring Bette Davis and Sheila Hancock.
